We are looking for a Group Data Protection Executive to join our Governance Department in our London office.

Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer, the Group Data Protection Executive will be a first point of contact for data privacy issues facing our global business, and will assist in improving and sustaining YouGov’s global privacy framework to address and mitigate data privacy risk and execute YouGov’s global data privacy strategy.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  • Supporting global stakeholders across different functions and time-zones to solve privacy issues, from helping colleagues to interpret and apply laws, policies and guidelines to supporting long-term projects.
  • Identifying privacy issues that need to be escalated and projects or processes that require a data protection impact assessment.
  • Maintaining and suggesting improvements to existing processes, policies, and guidelines, and identifying the need for new ones.
  • Assisting in maintaining YouGov’s personal data processing inventory.
  • Contributing to YouGov’s Privacy & Security Awareness framework.
  • Working with our legal team in reviewing privacy-related contracts, such as data processing and data sharing agreements.
  • Identifying and documenting changes in global data privacy laws and regulations that may impact YouGov’s business.
  • Supporting our Governance and Procurement functions, including by assisting with our supplier review process and providing appropriate privacy information to external stakeholders.

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:

  • Experience of working in data privacy, ideally in a commercial environment or advising on commercial issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of the key privacy principles, particularly those set out in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Experience in analysing privacy laws, regulations and guidelines, and applying them to business problems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, and in particular using Microsoft Excel and other programs for records management.
