We’re looking for a copywriter to join our team in Leeds. This full‑time role will involve creating SEO content, editorial features and branded campaigns across Leeds-List, Yorkshire-List and Manchester-List. You Platforms is a regional publishing and content business with trusted local audiences across the North. Our readers come to us for ideas, inspiration and useful recommendations, and our clients rely on us to create content that performs without compromising editorial quality.
This role is for a writer who understands how to create content with strong EEAT baked in from the start — content that demonstrates genuine experience, clear expertise, trustworthy sourcing, useful structure and a strong sense of audience purpose. You’ll be expected to create content that is not only engaging and commercially effective, but also credible, accurate, helpful and built to perform well in search over the long term. That means understanding how to strengthen articles through original insight, evidence, local knowledge, transparent sourcing, strong information gain and clear editorial standards.
As a copywriter, you’ll work across editorial, search‑led content and branded campaigns, producing work that readers actively value and that brands are proud to appear alongside.
What we’re looking for in a copywriter:
- A strong writer with experience creating digital content that is useful, well‑structured and search‑aware
- A clear understanding of EEAT principles and how to apply them in editorial, commercial and search‑led content
- The ability to write content that shows evidence of expertise, first‑hand understanding, credible sourcing and genuine value to the reader
- Experience improving or creating content designed to perform in organic search without resorting to clickbait, filler or thin SEO copy
- Strong editing instincts, including the ability to improve clarity, trust, originality and usefulness
- Confidence writing across different formats, including features, landing pages, newsletters, commercial content and campaign copy
- Good working knowledge of WordPress and modern SEO content best practice
What you’ll be doing as a copywriter:
- Writing editorial and commercial content for our owned publishing brands
- Creating search‑led content designed to rank because it is genuinely useful, well‑evidenced and better than competing pages
- Applying EEAT principles to content planning, drafting and editing
- Strengthening content through better sourcing, clearer structure, stronger reader value and more original insight
- Working with the wider team to produce branded content that meets both campaign objectives and editorial standards
- Reviewing existing content and identifying ways to improve trust, clarity, authority and search performance
What to expect in the application process:
We want to see evidence that you can create content with EEAT built in, not just talk about it. As part of the application process, shortlisted candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they approach accuracy, sourcing, originality, audience value and search performance in their work. That may include sharing examples of published content, explaining the thinking behind pieces you’ve created, and completing a short writing or editing task designed to show how you would improve a page for trust, usefulness and organic performance.
Apply now: To apply, send your CV, examples of relevant published work, and a short note explaining your experience creating content that demonstrates strong EEAT principles. Email: jobs@youplatforms.com
Additional information: Generative AI notice: you may use AI, but be mindful that your application might end up exactly the same as everyone else that uses AI. We believe in original content and talent, and that’s what we’re looking for here. Speculative applications from representatives, recruiters or other third parties that aren’t direct applicants aren’t accepted. You Platforms does not enter into contract with any party not on our preferred supplier list.
