Overview
We are seeking an experienced Therapies Manager to support the development and delivery of our therapeutic services across the RISE pathway. Working closely with the Team Manager and Head of Psychological Services, you will help ensure clients receive safe, high‑quality support while mentoring and guiding volunteers, trainees and sessional counsellors. The RISE pathway is cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) informed, and you will champion CAT as the therapeutic framework. The role requires regular on‑site presence and a small clinical caseload, focusing on improving overall therapeutic delivery across 1‑1 work, groups and workshops. It offers a high level of autonomy and an important part in supporting recovery.
Responsibilities
- Support the assessment process of those being referred into the service
- Facilitate a therapies MDT to support the appropriate oversight of 1‑1 work within the service
- Support the delivery of a safe, high‑quality service through ongoing monitoring and supervision of those delivering therapeutic interventions within the service
- Mentor and support volunteer, trainee and sessional counsellors
- Support safeguarding and ethical practice across the service
- Develop relationships with local counselling training courses to establish a pathway of student counsellors
- Offer consultation and support to the team utilising CAT principles to hold the framework in the service
- Set up and run support groups for the families of the residents in service
- Deliver interpersonal psychotherapy‑informed groups within the service where required
- Hold a small caseload of 1‑1 clients in the service depending on the need of the service
- Review and oversee the delivery of workshops and groups being run across the service to ensure consistent and high‑quality delivery
- Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR
- Contribute to monitoring and reporting of service activity
Qualifications
Required qualifications: a recognised qualification allowing practice as a HCPC registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor or Therapist
Experience:
- Experience of working with a wide range of people who have experienced complex lives
- Experience supporting staff teams to work in a psychologically informed way
- Experience of supervising colleagues
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of CAT and how it could be applied within teams and organisations
- Knowledge of how to work within psychologically informed environments
- Knowledge of risk assessment, risk management and safeguarding procedures
Communication skills:
- To be able to communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner
- An ability to give and receive feedback in a helpful and constructive way
- To communicate effectively with colleagues of varying experience and skills
Empathy and respect: ability to build strong relationships with teams and individuals; to be kind and approachable
Commitment:
- Be able to make good use of supervision to support your practice
- Be flexible in your thinking and willing to work adaptably to meet the needs of those we work alongside
Organisation:
- Work independently and autonomously, while asking for help when needed
- Develop pathways and processes that will benefit the service and needs of those who access the service
Computer literacy: computer literate, competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Windows
