Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in Wallingford, with flexibility to work from home part of the week. The Human Resources & Organisational Development Consultant will partner with clients to design and deliver bespoke HR and OD solutions across recruitment, retention, policy development, and employee relations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting HR investigations and mediations, facilitating training workshops, coaching and mentoring individuals and teams, and supporting organisational redesign, restructures, and consultation processes. The role also involves advising on organisational effectiveness, leading leadership and talent development initiatives, and contributing to workplace wellbeing and employee engagement programs. The consultant will be expected to manage multiple client projects, produce clear documentation and recommendations, and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships.
Qualifications

  • Strong consulting skills, including client relationship management, needs assessment, and solution design.
  • Experience in organisational effectiveness and organisational development, including change management and process improvement.
  • Expertise in leadership development, with the ability to design and deliver programs that build managerial and leadership capability.
  • Proficiency in coaching and training, including facilitating workshops, mentoring, and supporting learning initiatives.
  • Solid knowledge of core HR practices (recruitment, retention, policies, employment contracts, investigations, mediation).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work with diverse organisations and teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workloads, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in HR, Organisational Development, Psychology, or Business (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in consultancy or client-facing HR/OD roles, and familiarity with digital learning or e-learning platforms, is an advantage.
