We're looking for a Senior Music Licensing Manager to join our team to help grow and develop our presence in music globally.
About Yoto
Yoto is a screen‐free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels – think Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like BrainBots.
We're on a mission to be the soundtrack of childhood, and help families on their own unique adventures. By creating products that inspire independent play, we help families discover and grow with an inspiring world of audio – and we would like you to help us achieve it!
Yoto's Content Team
Content is at the heart of our business, and we have a global team of children's media specialists – with experience across publishing, music, education, rights, and audio production – who carefully consider every title that makes it into our library. We licence existing audio from some of the biggest names in the world of kids' entertainment (Universal Music, Sony Music, Concord, Naxos, Penguin Random House, Disney and many more), and also develop and produce our own content as part of our Yoto Originals range.
What you'll be doing
- Working within the Content team to help manage and nurture our global partnerships with major and independent record labels, music publishers, CMOs and PROs.
- Managing new licenses, renewals and additions to current deals.
- Selecting titles to release as Yoto Cards and working with partners and internal teams to manage the process, from contracting to production through to marketing – keeping our partners involved and informed throughout.
- Coordinating all partner reporting requirements – labels, publisher, PROs and CMOs.
- Sourcing new labels, artists and creative talent in new markets as licensed or marketplace partners.
- Managing ad‐hoc music licensing requests from other parts of the business – including synchronisation and bespoke requests.
- Finding strategic solutions to new product ideas and initiatives.
- Researching and sharing music & family entertainment trends.
- Attending partner events on behalf of Yoto and reporting back to the team.
What you'll bring
- An unwavering passion for the power of music and a deep understanding of how the industry operates.
- 7‐10 years experience working within the music industry – at a label, publisher, digital music service or music agency – with a proven track record of closing and managing licensing deals.
- A commercial thinker and experienced negotiator.
- A strong attention to detail with proven project management skills.
- A strong network of contacts throughout the industry in the UK, US and internationally.
- An ability to creatively curate and select music that works for younger audiences and families.
- A natural problem solver who thrives on finding creative solutions and adapting to challenges as they come.
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively, sharing ideas, and supporting colleagues to achieve common goals.
- A positive, can‐do attitude with a willingness to take initiative and continuously learn in an ever‐evolving industry.
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 based on experience
