We are looking for a Data Analyst to join us on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave (12 months). This is a "best of both worlds" role: you’ll bridge the gap between deep product insight and robust analytics engineering. You’ll be responsible for understanding user behaviour and measuring product impact while ensuring our underlying data transformations (via dbt) remain scalable and reliable during this key period of growth.
About Yoto
Yoto is a screen-free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels - think Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like BrainBots.
We’re on a mission to be the soundtrack of childhood, and help families on their own unique adventures. By creating products that inspire independent play, we help families discover and grow with an inspiring world of audio - and we would like you to help us achieve it!
Yoto’s Data Team
We’re a small team at the heart of all the decisions Yoto makes. We work in a high-trust environment with a lot of independence. Everyone can contribute ideas and be part of the decision-making process. We tackle a broad range of problems, from developing cutting-edge data product solutions to maintaining and building data ingestion pipelines, query and orchestration platforms, our work spans across all the key strategic projects throughout the company.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with tech, design, and product teams to provide actionable analysis that informs roadmaps and measures the success of new initiatives.
- Own end-to-end analysis projects: define problems and hypotheses, gather requirements, analyse data, present findings with recommendations, drive decision-making discussions.
- Maintain and build data transformation processes using dbt (Data Build Tool) and develop complex SQL queries to extract and cleanse data.
- Take responsibility for data reliability, ensuring pipelines are checked for accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and iterate on interactive dashboards (using Lightdash) that inspire product enhancements.
- Act as the data point of contact, helping them self-serve and interpret their own metrics.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer role, with experience of making an impact with data and insights.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including experience with complex joins, CTEs, and window functions.
- Practical experience with dbt is essential.
- Familiarity with Google BigQuery or similar cloud warehouses is a huge plus.
- Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A solid understanding of statistical analysis and experimentation techniques (e.g., A/B testing).
- The ability to jump in, learn our stack quickly, and maintain momentum is key.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 based on experience. We never want to miss out on great candidates, so don’t let our banding put you off reaching out - there’s sometimes flexibility for the right fit!
What you can expect from Yoto:

- Take advantage of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy to work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year.
