We’re looking for a Royalties and Revenue Accountant to join our team to take ownership of royalty and revenue accounting processes, ensuring accurate reporting, seamless partner payments, and robust financial controls across all royalty and subscription streams.
About Yoto: Yoto is a screen‑free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels – think Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like BrainBots.
What you’ll be doing:
- Royalties (Fadel & Content Partners): Manage the end‑to‑end royalty accounting process within Fadel, ensuring creators and licensors are paid accurately and on time. Reconcile Fadel outputs to NetSuite, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Maintain royalty rate cards, contract data, and accruals and reporting structures. Partner with Content and Commercial teams to ensure contracts and payments align with our publishing agreements. Support month‑end and quarter‑end royalty accruals, reporting, and audit requirements.
- Revenue & Receivables (B2B + subscriptions): Own the B2B revenue and receivables process, ensuring accurate invoicing, recognition, and timely cash collection. Work with Commercial, Sales Operations, and Customer Service to resolve billing queries and ensure timely cash collection. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journals for deferred revenue (i.e. Yoto’s subscription plans), accrued income and related adjustments. Support continuous improvement in billing, collection, and reporting processes.
- Systems & Process Development: Be a key user for Fadel and NetSuite, supporting system integration, automation and continuous improvement projects. Work with Systems Operations to enhance data flows between platforms (e.g. Shopify, Stripe, Celigo, Fadel and NetSuite), ensuring data accuracy, consistency and integrity across finance and commercial systems.
What you’ll bring:
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Solid grounding in revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, subscriptions and general accounting principles.
- Experience in royalties, rights management, or content‑based businesses (media, publishing, entertainment, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence with data manipulation and reconciliations.
- Comfortable working across multiple systems — experience with Fadel and NetSuite is a bonus, but not required.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, and hands‑on.
- Enjoys learning how systems work and how data connects across them.
- Curious, proactive, and keen to improve how things are done.
- Clear communicator who can work cross‑functionally with non‑finance teams.
- Thrives in a fast‑moving, creative, and collaborative environment.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 based on experience.
