We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Team, to help provide insights and build solutions across our business, providing the foundations to grow the business to the next level.

About Yoto

Yoto is a screen‑free interactive audio platform for kids. We make carefully connected audio players that kids control, with no microphones, cameras or ads. We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels – including Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like BrainBots.

Yoto’s Data Team

We’re a small team at the heart of all the decisions Yoto makes. We work in a high‑trust environment with a lot of independence. Everyone can contribute ideas and be part of the decision‑making process. We tackle a broad range of problems, from developing cutting‑edge data solutions to maintaining and building data ingestion pipelines, query and orchestration platforms. Our work spans across all the key strategic projects throughout the company.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll work closely with product, engineering and our commercial teams, leveraging data to unlock insights, build solutions and drive strategic decisions.
  • You’ll help teams understand user behaviour, measure impact, and make confident decisions about what to build next.
  • Partner with product and commercial teams to understand customer behaviour, and turn that into decisions people actually act on.
  • Help create experimentation frameworks and approaches that maximise our ability to learn quickly and confidently about customer experiences.
  • Use non‑experimental modelled approaches to help measure the impact of product features and growth projects, making clear the limitations and uncertainties.
  • Define the metrics that decisions actually hang on, and make sure people know what a result really means, and what it doesn’t.
  • Improve the efficacy of our internal LLM solutions, helping stakeholders navigate their own analysis and results, communicating uncertainties and risk as well as opportunities.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in data science roles, with a track record of influencing product or business decision making with data, insights and solutions.
  • Applied experience in statistics and probability, strong grounding in experimentation and causal inference methods.
  • Proven experience in navigating priorities across senior stakeholders, good judgement about where to spend effort, and being able to lead the direction of projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL and python, and experience working with modern data stacks (e.g., GCP, AWS Snowflake).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the opportunity to shape how data drives decision‑making at Yoto.
  • Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 based on experience.

What you can expect from Yoto

  • Flexibility: Hybrid working – expectation of 1 day a week on average in our London office. You can work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year. Summer Hours policy to use between June and August.
  • Financial: Income Protection covering long‑term sickness for up to 2 years, company sick pay, Life Assurance cover from day one, Workplace Pension offering up to 3% employer contributions (post‑probation), generous employee referral bonus scheme.
  • Health & Wellness: Private Medical Insurance via Aviva, wellbeing allowance for memberships, subscriptions and therapy, 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), dental advice and guidance, bike‑to‑work scheme.
  • Time Off: 25 days of holiday per year plus bank holidays. Birthday off, 1 extra day of holiday for each year worked after 2‑year anniversary up to 5 days, sabbatical policy offering up to 3 months unpaid after 4 years.
  • Family benefits: Variety of family‑friendly leave, including enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, fertility, pregnancy loss and carers leave. Workplace nursery scheme for preschool‑aged children.
  • People & Planet: Up to 2 volunteer days a year and a book allowance of up to £50 per year.
  • Fun perks: Receive your own Yoto player and starter pack of cards. Regular company socials, celebrations, and an annual YotoFest.
