About the role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager / Chief Engineer to oversee our property’s engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for our guests and team.
Reporting to the hotel General Manager, you will serve as a key member of the hotel senior management team.
More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead and manage the hotel’s maintenance and engineering team, providing direction, training, and support.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations across the property, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and outdoor spaces.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment and facilities.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, and water treatment systems.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests with professionalism and efficiency.
- Support hotel management with capital projects and renovations as required.
The skills we are looking for are:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, or similar leadership role in the hospitality industry (hotel/resort experience preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and respond to urgent issues quickly.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (engineering, electrical, mechanical, etc.) preferred.
