About the role

At YOTEL, our mission is to challenge the status quo – it’s our DNA. As the Security Manager you will work closely with the Cluster Chief Engineer and the General Manager of the hotel, and are responsible for providing a secure, comfortable, and safe environment for our guests and crew (what we call our team members). The Security Manager will serve as a key member of the hotel management team and have a major part in the people culture. This position will be expected to cover late shifts and weekends as and when the business requires.

More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • To manage the Security operations and provide the strategy and direction required to create an issue free environment through empowering and developing the crew.
  • Take an active role in ensuring the safety of all guests and team members throughout the hotel.
  • Support the Cluster Chief Engineer with relevant Health and Safety activity related to the hotel.
  • To regularly review the security provision with the Cluster Chief Engineer, General Manager and Hotel management teams and implement relevant changes so that lessons are learnt.
  • Ensure the hotel maintains the highest brand standard compliance and service delivery.

The skills we are looking for are:

  • 1 – 3 years experience in a security managerial level or similar role.
  • SIA Badge desirable but training can be provided.
  • Ability to coach and mentor crew to support with other goal of the hotel to create a safe and secure environment.
  • Strong computer skills, especially when operating CCTV systems.
  • Proven track record in leading and developing security initiatives that enhance the security environment of the business.
