With our ongoing expansion and the recent introduction of the Simpler Recycling Legislation in April 2025, Yorwaste is thrilled to announce two opportunities within our Transport team as Recycling Collection Vehicle (RCV) Drivers at the Harewood Whin Transfer Station.
Pay:£16.29 per hour
Contract:Permanent, full-time, up to 48 hours per week
Hours:Working 4 days on, 3 days off, (12-hour days)
Location: York, North Yorkshire

Yorwaste’s Drivers are responsible for providing services to our commercial customers across York and North Yorkshire. Working independently, you will show good management of personal workload, ensuring the safe operation and driving of our various vehicles, in-line with our health and safety standards.
As an RCV Driver, you will demonstrate good organisational and time-management skills, adapting to varying routes and schedules based on the evolving needs of our clients and the business. Being a positive and enthusiastic person, you will be able to adapt to operational obstacles that may arise in varying weather conditions. Excellent communication skills are required to coordinate regularly with our transport planners and the wider team, ensuring an efficient and friendly service.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working up to 48 hours per week including working on a Saturday. You may be required to work additional hours and bank holidays, so availability during these times is important, as is the ability to cover holidays and sickness as needed.
Essential Qualifications
- Category C Drivers Licence (Class 2) with no historical driving disqualifications.
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
