Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and is seeking to appoint a Supporter Welcome Assistant to engage and welcome new members.

Responsibilities

  • Telephone new members within the first month of membership to welcome them, thank them for their support, and inspire and enable them to make the most of their member benefits.
  • Answer member questions and address any issues raised, drawing on knowledge of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust work.
  • Make proactive calls to supporters as required.
  • Keep accurate records of all activities and feedback.
  • Occasionally assist the Supporter Services Team in processing new memberships and donations and in maintaining the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
  • Support the development and delivery of supporter retention events and activities across the broader Supporter Engagement Team where opportunities arise.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Passion for wildlife conservation and a strong desire to communicate this effectively.
  • Experience working in a customer‑focused, high‑performing team environment.
  • Professional delivery of supporter care and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • General knowledge and broad understanding of wildlife, nature conservation and environmental issues in the UK.
  • Understanding of data protection legislation.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with an articulate, highly engaging telephone manner.
  • Competence in office‑based computing software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM systems.
