Location: Based at Cottingham Pumping Station, with travel around the North and East Yorkshire area - you must live within a commutable distance of the base location.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Solutions Inspector to join the Water Distribution team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

The position of Billing Solutions Inspector forms part of the wider Metering Team within the Clean Water Service Delivery Directorate. Service Delivery is all about putting customers at the heart of everything we do. It means that we can give customers a seamless and consistent customer experience whilst improving our performance and providing exceptional value for money. The Metering Team provide a reliable and helpful service to domestic and commercial customers. You will form part of an open and informative team who are committed to providing a high level of service to each of our customers.
The purpose of the role is to provide domestic and commercial customers with a high level of technical advice and to propose solutions by means of surveying the plumbing systems and water supply to rectify customer billing issues. This involves planning, decision making and the timely and effective communication with all stakeholders involved.
As our Billing Solutions Inspector you will:
- Carry out both basic and complex surveys to resolve customer billing issues and provide a comprehensive and technical report to enable follow-on work to be carried out accurately and timely.
- Demonstrate day-to-day management of your work basket and ensure appointment compliance.
- Support our Service Partners with issues identified as a result of our work promotion.
- Provide technical support and assistance to other teams within the business when necessary in order to maintain customer service.
- Demonstrate financial awareness when making day-to-day business decisions.
- Act as a front-line representative of Yorkshire Water, ensuring that vehicles, corporate clothing and equipment are maintained appropriately and Company values and behaviours are demonstrated during all activities.
- Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the team's wider objectives.
- Take personal responsibility for yourself and also others with respect to health and safety, risk management and control of work to ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
- Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves our vision to be clearly the best against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.
