We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Team Leader to join the Asset Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

What will the role involve?
You will be responsible for the performance management & lead the Supply Chain Procurement Team to deliver an efficient service, ensuring all requisitions and orders are processed to deliver goods and services, negotiating quotes to offer the best price, identify and implement improvements to processes and services while complying with the changing demands of the business and agreed SLAs.
You will deliver a world-class customer service to internal customers on orders raised from various sources providing guidance to ensure company policy and audit controls are adhered to while offering support, training and knowledge and sharing of our P2P systems in relation to the procure to pay lifecycle.
As our Supply Chain Team Leader, you will:
- Provide leadership to the Supply Chain Team to comply with and drive improvements on key business metrics.
- Confidently manage a high volume of workload adjusting where necessary to meet the business priorities and needs.
- Good reporting and data analysis skills to be able to obtain and interpret data from a range of sources.
- Thorough understanding of the procure to pay process.
- Manage team and individual performance by setting stretching areas of focus aligned to the Yorkshire Water Behaviours, recognising exceptional performance and managing poor performance.
- Own business processes delivered by the Role / Team, relevant continuous improvement initiatives, including interdependence with other processes and data dependencies.
- Identify and capture relevant risks to the delivery of Team Objectives, to manage/ mitigate all risks via an appropriate control environment.
- Align Team & Role objectives with Strategy Maps, Balanced Scorecards & Performance Hubs, ensuring we are collecting the right data, creating insight & drive the right interventions.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement to actively seek out and take advantage of opportunities.
What skills are we looking for?
This role requires a focussed and driven individual who revels in a challenging environment and has a passion for excellence and a can-do attitude. Experience of working in a Supply Chain Procurement driven environment with good understanding of the end-to-end process including requesting quotations to required specification for goods and services from suppliers, procuring goods and services, expediting deliveries once orders have been placed with suppliers, managing off creating purchase orders, processing job closure forms and receipts.
Good working knowledge of SAP, Power BI and Microsoft Office skills. Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships to ensure the right goods and services are delivered on time to the right location. Highly motivated and self-starting with a personal drive for continuous improvement. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Proven track record of working independently and working to tight deadlines.
You will also benefit from having:
- SAP Ariba knowledge advantageous or the competency to learn complex systems well.
- Experience of leading and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours within a service delivery environment.
