Location: Buttershaw / Hybrid Working (2-3 days office a week – Bradford) with a requirement to travel to stakeholder engagement meetings across Yorkshire.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Engagement Advisor to join the Drainage and Wastewater team within Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Where you fit in :
Working in the Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan Team, the Strategic Engagement Advisor will ensure stakeholder engagement and collaboration is central to our long-term strategic planning.
The role will work closely with our communications, corporate affairs and strategic partnership teams here at Yorkshire Water to develop consistent communications and approaches to stakeholder engagement for the DWMP.
As our Strategic Engagement Advisor you will:
- Be a subject matter expert on the DWMP who supports in communicating and engaging on the requirements and remit of the DWMP.
- Manage the DWMP stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring all internal and external stakeholder details are regularly reviewed, RACIs defined and DWMP updates shared accordingly.
- Work with communications teams to support in the development of communications material for the DWMP for use across our stakeholders.
- Work with stakeholder engagement teams including Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Affairs to ensure we are proactively engaging with all required stakeholders on the DWMP.
- Proactively provide DWMP updates, including on required inputs and developed outputs with all relevant internal teams.
- Coordinate and support in facilitation of stakeholder engagement meetings and required governance structures.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Previous experience building strong and trusted working relationships across a varied stakeholder base.
- To be a confident communicator, including both written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to understand and distil technical information to a wide range of audiences.
- Experience in liaising and presenting to a wide range of audiences including senior leaders and community groups.
- An ability to create material that users want to engage with and an ability to utilise this material to build and maintain relationships.
- To be self-motivated, resilient and have a proactive nature with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
You will also benefit from having:
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework and legislation relevant to the Water Industry.
- Previous experience gained within the water/wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities sectors
