A Water Utility Company based in the Yorkshire region of England is looking for a Pumping Solutions Technical Specialist. We offer a competitive salary depending on experience from £48,454 to £60,568, along with an annual incentive related bonus (up to £1,000 maximum), an attractive pension scheme (up to 12% company contribution), and development opportunities in line with the progression plan.

This role will initially be based in Normanton but will move to Leeds Valley Park in 2026. It is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Pumping Solutions Technical Specialist, you will be part of the Asset Maintenance department, helping to provide the best service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing mitigation requests and assessing what can be delivered using internal resources and equipment
  • Designing temporary pumping solutions to support planned maintenance activities
  • Acting as the Person Managing Work Activity (PMWA) for the installation and decommissioning of temporary pumping solutions
  • Delivering pumping solutions end-to-end, managing projects independently
  • Collaborating with Operations and MEICA Delivery teams to develop practical, customer-focused solutions
  • Leading medium to large-scale and technically complex projects through the full lifecycle
  • Procurement and management of specialist subcontractors
  • Preparing project costings and maintaining commercial oversight
  • Providing technical expertise and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Monitoring and delivering against agreed customer KPIs
  • Contributing to key business outcomes
  • Championing SHEQ standards and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and compliance

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline
  • Proven experience within the pump hire sector and/or water industry
  • Practical understanding of fluid dynamics and pumping technologies
  • Strong knowledge of temporary and permanent pumping systems
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Experience managing subcontractors and external suppliers
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than six points)
