Location: Yorkshire Water Logistics Centre, Foxbridge Way, WF6. Pending relocation to Leeds (LS10). Work type: Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week. Out of hours, weekend working, and bank holidays will be worked as part of a structured stand‑by rota. Once fully trained you will be assessed for working on your own and you will be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota which will include evenings, weekends, and overnight callouts.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join the Warehouse team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.
As a Warehouse Operative within Yorkshire Water, you will be responsible for the coordination of consignments and maintenance packs for onward delivery to site and be expected to understand stock levels of maintenance parts and critical spares to ensure economic levels are maintained. In this role, you’ll demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for Yorkshire Water that rigorously achieves against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions and be responsible for the support of the co‑ordinated output of the logistics team. You’ll work closely with the Warehouse Team Leader and the Warehouse Coordinator providing general administrative support where required as well as training and developing new starters.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Full UK driving licence & Forklift Truck driving licence
- Technical understanding of all asset specifications, particularly pumps.
- Experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.
- To develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- To influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
- Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
- Comprehensive knowledge of stock management system and SAP.
- To take ownership of area in terms of supporting and advocating a safe working environment by implementing and adhering to health and safety procedures.

- Good working knowledge of YW corporate systems.
- The ability to work flexibly and deliver results.
- To be highly motivated and with a clearly demonstrated ability to use own initiative and deal with events and the unforeseen.
