We have an exciting opportunity for a Smart Waste Networks Optimiser to join the Customer Field Services team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Location

This role will initially be based in Bradford but we’re moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future. We offer hybrid working (2 to 3 office days a week – Bradford/Leeds) with travel across our network.

Work type

Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Our Customer Field Services (CFS) team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

Where you fit in!

  • Ensures relevant stakeholders are identified and supports line managers with clear and effective communications about the device roll out.
  • Collaborates with the wider waste water team to explore opportunities for active catchment management.
  • Works with internal and external comms to explore opportunities for sharing delivery plans and opportunity for improvements.
  • Acts as the link from CFS into the Operational intelligence team to optimise operational demand and improvements.
  • Leads and supports colleagues across the company to maximise the implementation of successful change.
  • Work with commercial services to manage the AMP8 telemetry deployment contract and supplier.
  • Developing a maintenance strategy and programme to ensure effective device availability and data quality.
  • Explores opportunities for innovation and new techniques to further develop a Waste Water smart network.
  • Driving customer improvements through process optimisation working with service optimisation teams.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Experience in designing and delivering change.
  • Experience in field operations understanding the challenges faced in field based roles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence across business readiness teams e.g. Business change, comms and learning, to plan and deliver the activities outlined in change impact assessments.
  • Broad understanding of sewer network systems and associated assets.
  • Broad understanding of telemetry devices, data capture and instal/deployment techniques.
  • Be an ambassador for change, encouraging senior stakeholders and frontline colleagues to adopt the change in a proactive and engaging way.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of CFS processes and system linked to day to day CFS operations as well as planning and scheduling and customer management practices.
  • Ability to work in fast paced delivery and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, organized and takes personal accountability.
  • Full UK driving license, role will be required to work at various locations across Yorkshire.
