Location: Yorkshire Water Logistics Centre, Foxbridge Way, WF6, pending relocation to Leeds (LS10).

Work type: Permanent. You’ll be working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hybrid working, 2 - 3 days each week will be on site at the logistics centre.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Scaffolding Inspector to join the Asset Maintenance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Our Scaffolding & Access team is the backbone of ensuring every structure meets the highest standards of safety and quality. We work closely with contractors, engineers, and site teams to guarantee that scaffolding is erected only when needed, inspected thoroughly, and maintained in line with the Work at Height Regulations and industry best practice. By managing and monitoring scaffolding across all sites, we help reduce overspend, improve awareness, and maintain consistent standards that protect both people and projects. This is a team that thrives on collaboration, expertise, and problem-solving. We don’t just inspect scaffolds—we drive innovation by identifying long-standing structures and exploring cost-effective, permanent solutions. Our work ensures compliance with TG20:21 and bespoke designs, while providing clear reporting and guidance to keep everyone informed and safe.

Where you fit in: As our Scaffolding Inspector you will:

  • Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
  • Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to deliver sustainable outperformance for YW that rigorously achieves against demanding competitive industry benchmarks.
  • Be able to work well on own initiative and plan workloads.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal business customers including improved visibility of scaffolding and access work.
  • Seek out and implement innovative solutions and ways of working.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • CISRS qualified Advanced Scaffold Inspector (CISRS ASI) with current CISRS card.
  • Can review technical structure drawing to ensure compliance.
  • Capable of ensuring all scaffolding work is carried out in accordance to design and specification.
  • Up to date with current TG20 & SG4 regulations.
  • Ability to produce performance reports in line with the Smart Scaffolder software.
  • At least five years’ scaffolding experience.
  • Has good computer literacy e.g. Microsoft Office & Excel.
  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
  • Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
  • Able to identify practical and innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Effective sub/contract management.
  • Excellent in problem solving, leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region.

You will also benefit from having:

  • At least five years’ experience as a Scaffolder.
  • Industrial scaffolding experience.
  • A practical engineering knowledge of YWS assets.
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment.
  • Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for increasing efficiencies and effectiveness.
