Water Utility Company based in the Yorkshire region of England. Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we are moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in September 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future - Hybrid Working (2-3 days office a week Bradford/Leeds). Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join the Programme Delivery team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. What we do: We ensure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire’s water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year.

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the project delivery team, ensuring effective coordination and governance across the full project lifecycle from funding authorisation through to asset settlement and project closure. This includes supporting project managers with governance and GMS approvals, preparing agendas, taking minutes, maintaining action, risk and issue logs, and assisting with project communications and stakeholder engagement. The role is responsible for collating and distributing asset handover information to support timely financial closure, highlighting discrepancies and upcoming milestones identified through PMO reporting, and providing logistical support such as arranging meetings and booking facilities.

The role provides project administration support for activities including payments, purchase orders, project completions and asset commissioning, while maintaining an understanding of contract management processes, including DocuSign. The postholder will build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and contract partners, demonstrate strong IT and systems skills across platforms such as SAP, Ariba and Guided Buying, and maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance.

  • Maintain compliance with company standards, policies, processes and Business Process Management principles, ensuring regulatory and legal obligations are met and ISO accreditation requirements are upheld.
  • Act as a subject matter resource within the remit of the role, ensuring relevant standards, policies, procedures and systems remain current and are effectively communicated to stakeholders.
  • Support the successful integration and close-out of projects by ensuring outputs are embedded into operations, performance commitments are achieved, and project closure activities are completed in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, acting as a coach and mentor to colleagues, supporting peer reviews, and contributing to the successful delivery of wider programme objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and best practice, while ensuring hazards and risks are identified, reported and managed appropriately, safe systems of work are followed, and approved equipment and procedures are used at all times.

Experience of developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships, strong organisational and communication skills, excellent time management skills, report writing and presentation skills, analytical and reporting skills, experience of projects, partnership working and financial management, and the ability to demonstrate the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours are essential. Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) is also required.

You will also benefit from having knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment, and previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
