This role will initially be based in Bradford but we are moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in Summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future, with a hybrid working arrangement in place, a mix of office and home working. We work 3 days in the office per week.
This is a permanent role, working full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join the Central Control team in Yorkshire Water. You will play a key role in the coordination and management of work in line with service level targets, creating work plans (weekly, monthly, etc.) to achieve completion within set timeframe, in line with available resource.
As our Planner, you will be responsible for:
- The coordination and management of work in line with service level targets.
- Creating work plans (weekly, monthly, etc.) to achieve completion within set timeframe in line with available resource.
- Pre-planning work schedules to achieve an optimum balance between field resource productivity and adherence to service level targets.
- Planning and preparing work activities coordinating resources, equipment, materials to deliver a right first time experience for our customers.
- Planning preventative planned maintenance, complex planning (as defined by Engineering), reactive and predictive workload.
- Using Yorkshire Water’s IT systems to prepare work plans to be handed over to a Scheduler in line with service level targets.
- Engaging with field management to ascertain individual needs and priorities when constructing plans.
- Working with the Demand and Capacity team to review frequencies and workload of work orders to ensure smooth profiling throughout the year.
- Collaborating with Field Performance Managers, Technical Planners, Foxbridge Logistics and Schedulers to ensure achievable and logical plans to meet work completion and productivity targets.

- Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships with a range of key stakeholders.
- Effectively problem solve under pressure and find innovative ways to overcome complex business challenges.
- Strong IT skills as you will be using a range of IT systems.
- Able to influence and negotiate.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Rigorous attention to detail to ensure right first time performance.
You will also benefit from having:
- Experience in the use of IT packages to plan large volumes of work (SAP understanding), although full training will be provided.
- Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors would be beneficial for the role.
