Position: IT SAP Project Manager – Project Management team (Yorkshire Water)
Location: Bradford initially, moving to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026; Hybrid working 1–2 days in office a week – Bradford/Leeds.

Role Overview
The IT SAP Project Manager leads the delivery of complex SAP projects across Yorkshire Water’s SAP landscape, including HR, Success Factors, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and future transformation initiatives.
Accountable for governance, budgets, risks, quality, resources, stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end SAP project and programme delivery across various platforms.
- Manage delivery through all project lifecycle phases: business case, design, build, testing, deployment, cutover, hypercare, benefits realisation.
- Lead SAP transformation initiatives, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Maintain robust governance, project controls, RAID management and reporting.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, CAPEX and financial performance.
- Provide commercial oversight of SAP implementation partners, system integrators and third‑party suppliers.
- Ensure successful integration across SAP modules, business processes, technical teams and external suppliers.
- Lead cutover planning, deployment and transition to operational support.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and issues across complex delivery environments.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, business process owners and executive sponsors.
- Drive decision‑making through investment boards, steering committees and governance forums.
- Ensure solutions deliver agreed business outcomes, operational improvements and ROI.
- Champion SAP delivery best practice, continuous improvement and lessons learned.
- Key SAP Responsibilities
- Deliver large‑scale SAP projects and programmes from initiation to closure.
- Manage multi‑disciplinary SAP delivery teams.
- Drive successful implementations, upgrades, migrations and optimisation initiatives.
- Lead vendor and partner management activities.
- SAP Governance and Assurance
- Maintain project governance frameworks aligned to delivery standards.
- Provide accurate reporting on health, finances, risks and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security, audit and change requirements.
- Lead stage gates and investment approvals.
- Business Change and Benefits Realisation
- Agree solutions with business objectives and business cases.
- Define, measure and track benefits throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support organisational change activities.
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Manage budgets, forecasts and operating expenditure.
- Ensure delivery within funding envelopes.
- Provide financial insight for investment decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience delivering SAP projects in enterprise environments.
- Experience delivering across SAP HR, Success Factors, ECC6, S/4HANA or related platforms.
- Proven experience managing large budgets, forecasts and financial controls.
- Strong governance, risk management, assurance experience.
- Experience managing system integrators and SAP partners.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influence skills.
- Experience leading virtual and multi‑disciplinary delivery teams.
- Track record delivering business value and benefits through SAP transformation.
