By the end of the scheme, you'll be ready to step into a permanent role and make a lasting impact.

Your Team:

Engineering is a fundamental, enabling function residing at the heart of the way we manage our operational assets to deliver excellent customer service and protect the environment for the benefit of the people who live within and visit Yorkshire. With expertise spanning process, chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation we support every aspect of the asset lifecycle— from concept through to decommissioning —by creating and managing assets that can last more than 100 years and so, no two days can ever be the same.

Our team ensures that capital investments are designed and constructed to provide safe, compliant, and serviceable operational assets that truly underpin excellent customer service and protect the environment. Through collaboration with our suppliers, we deliver optimal engineering solutions to complex business needs by:

  • Thoroughly understanding risks
  • Reinvigorating or re‐purposing existing assets to avoid construction where possible
  • Optimizing the design of assets we construct
  • Maximising the value of our capital investment for customers and simultaneously minimising the environmental impact of our construction activity.

As a Programme Graduate in Electrical Engineering you will:

  • Inspect & survey assets to quantify asset health and performance
  • Investigate and understand the root cause of a business risk
  • Quantify the risk and assess regulatory compliance
  • Identify and promote opportunities for targeted capital investment
  • Identify safety / environmental hazards and support the engineering design processes to design and develop solutions that keep customers & colleagues safe and protect the environment
  • Support, govern, and assure design processes
  • Develop standard products, technical specifications, and improve working procedures/practices
  • Identify and implement asset improvements that enhance asset security, resilience, performance, and reduce operating costs
  • Validate that assets are constructed to accepted designs and standards
  • Monitor asset health/performance and intervene to improve and protect Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and environmental protection

We recognise that each of our graduates will have different needs and ambitions. Therefore, our programme is designed to meet those individual needs so that you can shape your future career the way that suits you. We offer a balanced development programme throughout the duration of your two years with support from Sponsoring Managers, Graduate Champions and Mentors, as well as core programme team to support you from the day you make the decision to join us. We actively support all engineering graduates in their Path to IEng and C.Eng accreditation.

REQUIREMENTS:
