We have an exciting opportunity for a Mitigation Planner to join the Asset Maintenance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

As a Mitigation Planner, you will take ownership of the Mitigation Hire Desk, coordinating essential temporary pumping and aeration solutions to support WasteWater Service Delivery during process failures. In this critical role, you will help protect the environment, prevent pollution incidents, and enable operational teams to respond swiftly and effectively. Thriving in a regulated, fast-paced environment, you will demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, while driving efficiency, safety, and strong collaboration across teams. With a proactive and continuous improvement mindset, you will bring energy and determination to deliver high-quality outcomes and ensure the Mitigation function runs smoothly, contributing to the wider success of the business.
Where you fit in: As our Mitigation Planner you will:
- Coordinate urgent and planned hire requests via phone and email, ensuring timely and efficient responses.
- Take ownership of enquiries from initial request through to completion, utilising internal equipment or external contract partners as required.
- Conduct and support site visits to assess and scope mitigation needs, ensuring suitable solutions are identified.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams and stakeholders, maintaining strong communication and effective working relationships.
- Source, validate, and secure approval for quotations, mitigation plans, and site surveys in line with requirements.
- Arrange delivery, installation, servicing, and removal of hire equipment, including organising transportation and logistics.
- Monitor live hires and equipment stock levels, ensuring accurate tracking, timely servicing, and efficient returns management.
- Manage contractor performance and compliance, including leading review meetings, maintaining SLAs/KPIs, controlling costs, and upholding Health & Safety standards.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to sites when required.
- Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office; experience with SAP S4 or similar systems is advantageous.
- Proven administrative and coordination experience within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.
- Able to manage workload effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-focused, with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrates strong influencing skills, promoting positive behaviours while working collaboratively and independently.
