We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Water Production department as a Product & Process Manager (Water) for someone who has a passion for Operations & Maintenance and leading sustainable improvements large, complex operational teams. You will oversee the operation of 4 water treatment works in the Huddersfield area, delivering a proactive asset operation & maintenance plan, responding to reactive issues, and being responsible for a team of engineers - with a focus on safety, water quality, water supply, and the environment.
You will drive the performance of Yorkshire Water's most expansive assets and their associated compliance and regulatory interactions. With a strong track record of running high performing teams to deliver brilliant compliance and Health and Safety performance at a cost Yorkshire folk are prepared to pay, you will utilise the most appropriate mix of in-house and outsourced skills to deliver the best possible outcomes for Yorkshire.

Location: The role will be area based covering the Huddersfield (Calder) area.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, expectation to participate in a Bronze (Level 3) standby rota.

We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire's water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year.
This role will have financial accountability for circa £10 million operating budget, leading the transformation for the function, enabling modernisation of ways of working and reducing the cost of failure through implementation of Dynamic Asset Maintenance, adapting to new regulatory water quality drivers and embracing our operational asset management system (ERP).
Right for the Environment: Work with the Manager of Asset Planning to operationalise great Water Quality performance and reduce asset outage to achieve our CRI, UPO and EPA performance targets. Contributes to our net zero aspirations, plans for energy efficiency, EV transition and reducing energy use from our operations. Design and implement fit for purpose processes that are simpler for colleagues, better for the environment and provide greater value for customers. Work with our delivery partners to deliver better outcomes and making operations simpler and easier for colleagues. Ensure Yorkshire Water has an active role in industry-wide and regulatory discussions as well as consultation groups related to the development of policy. Create business cases and business plans when required, actively participating in the People Leader community. Represent the business externally in a professional and brand appropriate manner.

Our people: up to 15 direct reports who provide the O&M and optimisation input to a number of our clean water treatment works to safely receive and treat our regions raw water. Drive the continuous improvement of our operations, working with colleagues in making our operations even more efficient and effective.
What skills & qualifications you will need: Have shown that nothing is more important than health, safety, and the environment for colleagues and customers. Have significant experience of leading or working with cross functional, service driven, O&M operations. Have created high performing, engaged and capable teams. Possess strong presentational, commercial, continuous improvement and operational experience capabilities. Has implemented efficiency and effectiveness improvements across departments, this is a business that needs to deliver better outcomes at a lower cost.
You will also benefit from having: Experience of Utilities leadership, water quality compliance or clean water operations. Lean, six sigma or equivalent qualification to align colleagues and teams to the business strategic objectives. Experience of coaching and training recognised of process improvement techniques.
