Location: Yorkshire region, your base will be determined by your home location. You will be required to be onsite 3 days a week and other 2 days will be in the office or working from home.

Work type : Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a CSO Technical Assurance Technician to join the Wastewater Customer Field Services at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

At Yorkshire Water, we’re looking for aCSO Technical Assurance Technicianwho’s ready to step into a vital role ensuring our wastewater contractor work meets the highest standards.

Where you fit in:

As our CSO Technical Assurance Technicianyou will:

  • You will deliver both administrative and technical support across the CSO Maintenance Contract, including permit issuing, regulatory reporting, audit execution, evidence gathering, and contractor performance monitoring.
  • Responsible for escalating any areas of concern relating to Contractor activity to the Contractor delivery Team Leader.
  • You’ll report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, hazards and near misses within the required timescales.
  • Drive excellent standards and performance in health, safety risk management and control of work to ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
  • Provides administrative support when requested by the Environmental Agency linked to the CSO Maintenance Contract.
  • Work closely with the Contractor Delivery Team Leader/ Network Operation Specialist to identify trigger jobs that would be most beneficial to audit.
  • Be responsible for undertaking H&S spot audits to support quality of onsite activity.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Stakeholder management – ability to build and maintain a network of working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver results.
  • Previous experience of understanding where your role fits within a business plan and then developing ways to deliver the outputs.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • A sound technical understanding of the sewer network.
  • Essential to have extensive experience and knowledge of CSO’s and how they operate.
  • Experience of working on the sewer network in an operational capacity.
  • A full valid UK driving licence.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Previous experience of working in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment would be desirable.
  • Control of Work – Authorised Person is desirable however training will be given.
