Location
This role is initially based in Bradford and will relocate to Leeds Valley Park in Summer 2026, with a hybrid working arrangement combining office, home and onsite work.
Work Type
This is a fixed‑term, 2‑year opportunity, full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within a working window of 8:00am–6:00pm.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Communications and Engagement Advisor, you will develop and deliver proactive communication plans for Yorkshire Water’s capital schemes, simplifying complex engineering projects for customers and stakeholders. You will engage with local communities through events and meetings, optimise all channels to promote projects, produce media coverage and social media content, create engaging web content, and contribute to newsletters and performance reporting. You will collaborate closely with the brand, communications, education and partnership teams, and maintain strong working relationships with project managers, contract partners and other Yorkshire Water teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience as a communications or community engagement professional in an agency or in‑house environment
- Proactive, creative and driven with an ability to implement innovative ideas
- Proven track record of delivering effective communications and customer engagement with measurable results under pressure
- Ability to influence key stakeholders internally and externally
- Excellent skills in online channel and content publishing
- Ability to create engaging content and use it to build relationships and advocacy
- Strong knowledge of the communications and engagement environment
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and written skills
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Deep knowledge of the online environment including social media for driving interest
- Public Relations or similar qualification would be advantageous
