Location: Hybrid working, Buttershaw, Bradford, from Summer 2026 Valley Park, Leeds. The role is predominantly site-based but we do have a hybrid working policy.

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Assistant to join our Infrastructure team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Our Waste Water function is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. You’ll play a key role in keeping health and safety front and centre, helping us aim for top tier performance. You’ll also work closely with stakeholders and customers to hit our regulatory targets.

Where you fit in: As our Technical Project Assistant, you will be:

  • Driving excellent standards in health, safety, risk management, and control of work to meet Yorkshire Water’s Safety Policy.
  • Reporting accidents, hazards, near misses, and dangerous occurrences within required timescales.
  • Working as part of the Infrastructure team to support wider team objectives through strong individual performance.
  • On-site technical assurance and auditing.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying and escalating health and safety issues during audits, with authority to stop work if necessary.
  • Auditing site resources, plant, and equipment to support contractor payment claims.
  • Providing technical support and training based on audit findings.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver results effectively.
  • A collaborative approach, working well with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Confident influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in a commercially focused and/or regulated environment (desirable).
  • Operational experience working on the clean water network (desirable).
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
