Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region, and play a key role in the region's health, wellbeing, and prosperity.
New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. Modern, accurate power metering is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. The Energy team are responsible for the energy costs of Yorkshire Water and with 4,200 operational sites across Yorkshire, energy costs are a significant proportion of Yorkshire Water's Opex therefore being able to accurately report on energy performance is crucial all the way up to Executive Level. The scope includes data from purchased energy, renewables generation, third party recharges and operational data and is the basis for regulatory APR reporting, carbon reporting and compliance auditing by our regulators.
The Energy Project Development team sits in Kelda, the parent company of Yorkshire Water and is part of the wider Commercial Services Team accountable for delivering energy projects to meet the businesses aim of achieving 40% self-generation by 2030. This is achieved by delivering new assets and optimising existing assets. The team also support the wider business with exciting and innovative projects leveraging more value out of our assets and raw materials and waste products. The wider department is also accountable for commercial and contractual arrangements across the supply chain and to deliver leading and world class contract management processes.
Where you fit in: As our Power Metering Change Co-ordinator, you will:
- Act as support and liaison for all aspects of metering schemes, coordinating communications with regards to exchanges, problem solving, purchase orders, contractors, general customer enquiries (internal and external) and to provide an essential support function for the whole team.
- Provide support to the Metering Manager
- Follow corporate governance processes and procedures for project delivery.
- Raise and manage the progress of purchase orders and reporting issues.
- Produce financial data for projects, updating, monitoring and reporting.

- Knowledge of electrical infrastructure (at a basic level).
- Experience of developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
