Location: Hybrid Working, 3 office/site days a week. Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. There will be a standby requirement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager (ICA) to join the Asset Maintenance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

Asset Maintenance are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technicians that deliver planned and reactive maintenance and repair of ICA assets across both the Clean and Waste Water asset base. You will provide assurance that the work carried out meets with any regulatory compliance obligations and is completed in accordance with the relevant SHEQ policies to deliver operational efficiency.

The role will involve internal and external key stakeholder liaison, supporting departments to prevent asset failure, and resolution of clean and wastewater asset risks/failures to ensure our regulatory targets and key business objectives are achieved.

Where you fit in: As our Maintenance Manager (ICA) you will:

  • Lead the team to deliver excellent performance by setting clear expectations linked to business targets, having meaningful performance discussions that recognise and reward the right performance and behaviours and challenges where individual performance and behaviours do not meet expectations.
  • Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy.
  • Provide SME support to manage incidents in order to minimise environmental and customer impact and resolve customer impacting issues as quickly and effectively as possible.
  • Manage the performance of the team and individuals to increase productivity and quality outputs whilst driving consistency and implementing and sharing best practice.
  • Provide engineering services for assets to ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance requirements through effective planning, monitoring, control, operation and optimisation.
  • Complete quality assurance audits of maintenance activities in regard to the standards of work of both internal resource and contracted activities.
  • Ensure real time understanding of key assets and operational performance, risks and priorities.
  • Maximise asset availability through adherence to the engineering plans and procedures.
  • Participation in an out of hours standby rota.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Experience of managing and leading a team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
  • MEICA based apprenticeship or Engineering degree or equivalent (ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical, ICA or mechanical Engineering).
  • Proficient in the use of a CMMS (such as SAP) to manage work activity.
  • Resource management to identify priorities and actions to assist in delivering results.
  • A full valid Driving Licence (with no more than six points).
  • Experience of business planning, resource, and budget management.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Previous experience in a Wastewater or similar utilities, process, and manufacturing background.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering/operational/strategic leadership role in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment.
