We have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior Modellers to join the expanding Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

As a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller, you'll lead the development of high-quality models that drive hydraulic and water quality assessments, shaping long-term wastewater strategies. You'll play a key role in delivering major regulatory outputs including the Storm Overflow Discharge Reduction Plan, WINEP, and DWMP while guiding technical innovation and collaborating with top-tier partners. We're looking for specialists in urban drainage, river hydraulics, or water quality modelling, and we'll support your continued development.
Where you fit in: As our Senior Modeller you will:
- Lead on the technical development and maintenance of YW's urban drainage/hydraulic models along with associated procedures to capture industry best practice.
- Provide effective technical support to contract partners, acting as Yorkshire Water's "Expert Client".
- Ensure all models are developed and maintained within the required timescales to ensure compliance with the company's statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Lead on providing technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to modelling/sewer network risks and opportunities.
- Provide expert technical coaching to other team members and colleagues.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- A degree qualification in a relevant discipline and can demonstrate a wide knowledge and experience in urban drainage modelling.
- Competent in use of specialist modelling software, e.g. InfoWorks ICM used within Yorkshire Water.
- Ability to train and coach others on technical elements of modelling and software.
- Good and confident decision-making skills in relation to modelling queries, technical issues and verification of outputs.
- Excellent communication skills which include being able to explain complex Modelling and Urban Drainage processes and issues to non-technical stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of wastewater asset types and understanding of how sewerage systems function.
- Has a positive attitude to problem solving and is a self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills.
