We have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join the Maintenance Design and Assurance Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

The Maintenance Design and Assurance team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

As a Reliability Engineer within the Maintenance Design and Assurance Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of asset performance and reliability. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise to ensure that critical operational assets are maintained with precision delivering the right maintenance at the right time. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing compliance, reliability, resilience, and sustainability, all while supporting customer and stakeholder expectations.

Where you fit in: As our Reliability Engineer you will:

  • Be responsible for developing, implementing and optimising Above Ground, Below Ground and Nature Based Solution asset specific equipment maintenance strategies and overall asset technical practices and standards in line with requirements from the Principal Engineers.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the asset preventative maintenance program for Above Ground, Below Ground and Nature based Solution assets.
  • Compile and maintain asset criticality and equipment risk registers.
  • Be the instrumental lead in reviewing Above Ground, Below Ground and Nature Based Solution assets maintenance performance and reliability data to identify critical assets/risks to the business and instigate RCAs for short, medium, and long-term issue resolution.
  • Develop, implement and maintain key reliability improvement processes across the YW electrical Assets including RCM, Criticality Analysis, RCFA investigation & resolution of worst performing/costly equipment.
  • Provide documented evidence of improvements and savings and highlighting risk to the Business.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • Relevant maintenance experience.
  • Significant knowledge and application of reliability improvement techniques and practices.
  • Broad experience with equipment maintenance.
  • Extensive experience of, and proficiency in the use of, Computer Maintenance Management Worked on Systems (CMMS, e.g. SAP S4) to develop reliability reports and the analysis of this data.
  • Previous experience of supporting and embedding change.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and departments within the organisation.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Water Industry and Nature Based Solution experience.
