Location: This role will initially be based in Bradford but we are moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you'll be based there in the future - Hybrid Working (Two office days a week Bradford / Leeds and willingness to travel to Yorkshire Water sites).

Work type: 12 Month Secondment. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Land and Property team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders, influence strategic decisions, drive innovation, and see the tangible impact of your work across multiple environments and communities. Where you fit in: As our Project Manager you will:

  • Lead and manage multiple Land & Property projects, driving successful delivery from concept through to completion.
  • Take ownership of project forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of expenditure, timelines, and progress.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful project updates, securing proactive approvals and ensuring full compliance with Corporate Governance requirements.
  • Develop and execute robust project plans, producing high-quality business cases, implementation strategies, risk assessments, and project reports.
  • Identify and champion new opportunities for improvement and innovation through collaboration with partners, contractors, suppliers, and industry networks.
  • Apply best-practice project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Maintain effective project governance by ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and appropriately managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project financials, validating and authorising payments and expenditure while working closely with Project Coordinators to ensure effective cost control.
  • Build strong relationships with Land & Property Technical Leads and Sponsors across Rural, Residential, Conservation, Recreation, Operations, and Workplace Experience functions to support strategic planning and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with service partners and contractors, acting as a key point of contact for project delivery, contractual discussions, and technical queries.
  • Support Business Sponsors in developing project scopes, evaluating options, obtaining quotations, and identifying the most cost-effective delivery solutions.
  • Manage contractor engagement and instruction, ensuring clear project requirements, CDM compliance, and effective performance monitoring throughout delivery.
  • Represent the business at site meetings, driving stakeholder engagement, monitoring project progress, and undertaking health and safety audits to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
  • Lead stakeholder management activities, developing communication and engagement plans that build confidence, align expectations, and support successful project outcomes.
  • Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders during site works, ensuring Health & Safety standards are upheld and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • A Project Management qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • CDM and/or site management qualifications.
  • Experience managing construction-related projects from start to finish.
  • Confident working across a variety of site environments and engaging with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Strong financial management and reporting skills, including experience with SAP, PMS, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and project governance.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects against challenging budgets and timescales.
  • Strong risk assessment, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing project scopes and managing quotations and suppliers cost-effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hold a Full UK driving licence.
  • The flexibility to travel and work across multiple sites throughout Yorkshire.
