Location: West Yorkshire / Hybrid Working (circa 2 days in the office Bradford initially then Leeds)

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Technician to join the Commercial team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Commercial function is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

This role sits at the heart of the Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) team, underpinning governance, financial control and programme discipline. If you are highly organised, commercially aware and motivated by supporting high-profile infrastructure delivery, this could be the role for you.

Where you fit in: As our Contract Technician you will:

  • Lead requisitioning activities across the DPC programme and deputise for project requisitioners where required.
  • Undertake goods receipting, maintain accurate spend logs and support timely vendor payment in liaison with Accounts Payable.
  • Administer non-PO payments and oversee timesheet logging and allocation across projects and programme codes.
  • Maintain and develop the DPC Pipeline database, ensuring early visibility of sourcing and resource needs particularly time-and-materials engagements.
  • Coordinate the team's involvement in Strategic Consultancy Control (SCC) and off-Payroll worker compliance processes.
  • Organise logistics for market engagement events and maintain structured Q&A and engagement records.
  • Issue periodic communications to the DPC community, wider Yorkshire Water teams and framework participants.
  • Maintain the contract repository, task instructions and work order summaries, ensuring version control and handbook updates are implemented.
  • Obtain and log KPI and performance reports from suppliers.
  • Monitor team training compliance and support holiday coordination and resource visibility.
  • Provide structured administrative support to ensure continuity and audit readiness across the programme.

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Strong administrative and financial processing experience within a corporate or regulated environment.
  • Experience working with procurement systems (e.g. SAP Ariba), spend tracking and timesheet management.
  • High levels of organisation, accuracy and document control discipline.
  • Confidence coordinating stakeholders, events and structured communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple data logs and maintain auditable records.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Demonstrates the Yorkshire Water values and behaviours.
