Job description: Senior Project Engineer Electrical

Location: Remote working with regular travel to Yorkshire Water sites and offices, typically two days per week. A full valid UK driving licence is essential for the role with no more than 6 points.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer Electrical to join the Asset Delivery team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire's water, today, tomorrow, 24/7, 365 days a year.
The Capital Delivery team is accountable for delivering the Capital Construction Programme through collaboration for sustainable out-performance. The purpose of the department is to achieve best value for money from our Capital Programme by optimising resources and monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of our supply chain commercial arrangements.
Where you fit in: As our Senior Project Engineer Electrical you will:
- Provide technical supervision and line management of a team of Project Technicians
- Technically manage and coordinate the design and safe delivery of engineered MEICA projects within the Specialist Projects portfolio
- Ensure that the delivery of all projects complies with the requirements of the CDM regulations
- Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work
- Ensure robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all business decisions
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Electrical-based apprenticeship or Engineering degree or equivalent / ONC/HNC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
- Understanding of the principles of control of works, permits, POWRA, RAMS etc.
- Broad experience with electrical equipment to produce engineered solutions
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the CDM regulations
- Good understanding of the design and project delivery process including hazard identification, risk assessment and site supervision
- Able to respond to a wide range of specific technical and non-technical queries
- Experience of working to ATEX standards
You will also benefit from having:
- Experience working in a regulated utility or major asset management / delivery
- Previous experience in a commercially orientated and/or regulated environment
- SMSTS trained
- Knowledge of the range of equipment within the water industry
