Yorkshire Trading Company is a growing family‑owned business with 35 stores across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & the North East, a busy ecommerce operation, and Outdoor Events teams that operate nationwide.
Position Details
The Retail Store Supervisor will work part‑time in our Grantham store, 32 hours over 4 days, including some weekends on a rota basis. Additional hours may be required during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Assist the store manager with the day‑to‑day running of the store.
- Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder).
- Support the management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team on the shop floor.
- Work on store displays, stock rotation and put away.
- Keep up‑to‑date with all products, services and promotions.
- Handle customer questions, complaints and issues.
- Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters, suggesting items and delivering great traditional customer service.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform cashing up duties as and when required.
- Ensure pricing is correct.
- Manage tidy time.
- Other related duties, not exhaustive.
Essential Skills
- Previous supervisory or people‑management experience is ideal but not essential; training will be provided. Some retail experience is required.
- Knowledge of cashing up procedures would be advantageous.
- Computer literate.
- Desire to achieve and deliver high standards.
