An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pre-Litigation Claims Handler to join its established team in Bradford city centre. This role will focus on defending Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims prior to litigation. It is a hands-on, fee-earning position within a supportive environment that offers structured supervision and genuine development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defend EL/PL personal injury claims from inception up to (but not including) litigation, ideally with exposure to retail-based claims
  • Confidently utilise the MOJ EL/PL Portal
  • Communicate effectively with opponents, experts, statutory bodies and clients via telephone, email and formal correspondence
  • Negotiate liability and quantum in accordance with client instructions and commercial objectives
  • Pursue recovery of client outlays from third parties where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate reserves, financial records and risk management data
  • Deliver high standards of client service, including when dealing with litigants in person
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and referrers

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum of 18 months' experience handling defendant EL/PL personal injury claims at pre-litigation stage
  • Working knowledge of the MOJ EL/PL Portal
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied and busy caseload
  • Clear and confident communication skills
