A highly regarded and progressive law firm in Wetherby is seeking an Employment Paralegal to join its growing Employment team.
This is a standout opportunity for an ambitious employment paralegal who wants genuine responsibility, broad exposure to employment law and a clear path towards qualification.
Working closely with experienced Employment Solicitors, you will support a wide range of employer matters, assist on complex cases and manage your own files under supervision.
The work is predominantly non-contentious and advisory, with clients ranging from SMEs to established businesses across multiple sectors. You will also gain valuable exposure to Employment Tribunal matters and settlement agreements, giving you well-rounded experience across the full employment law spectrum.
The Role
- Supporting Employment Solicitors on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Advising employer clients on day-to-day HR and employment law issues
- Drafting contracts of employment, staff handbooks, policies and procedures
- Assisting with disciplinary, grievance, capability and redundancy processes
- Preparing settlement agreements and related documentation
- Supporting Employment Tribunal claims and litigation where required
- Conducting legal research and preparing draft advice
- Managing your own caseload of appropriate matters under supervision
- Building strong relationships with clients and delivering strategic, practical, commercial solutions

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- At least 12 months’ employment law experience
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding working with employers
- A strong academic background
- Initiative, drive and ambition, with a genuine desire to build a career in employment law
