I am currently looking to speak with senior level Family Solicitors on behalf of a modern, values-driven law firm that’s growing steadily and making a real impact. It is looking to strengthen its Family Department in Huddersfield and looking to bring on a Solicitor to manage a diverse caseload including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases.

This is an ideal role for a motivated and experienced Solicitor seeking a flexible working environment, clear progression opportunities and the chance to work within a close-knit and supportive team. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload including divorce, private children matters, non-molestation orders and financial relief cases.
  • Handle files independently, including taking over ongoing cases.
  • Attend court for directions hearings, first appointments and FDRs.
  • Draft legal documentation and communicate effectively with clients and third parties.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations, including Legal Aid Agency (LAA) rules and the Solicitors Act.
  • Provide support and supervision to junior colleagues, including file reviews.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Family Solicitor with a minimum of 5 PQE (or equivalent).
  • Experience handling a broad range of family law matters including children, divorce, financial disputes and domestic abuse.
  • Familiarity with TOLATA cases is beneficial.
  • Excellent client care skills and strong drafting abilities.
  • Confident in legal aid procedures and billing requirements.
  • Able to supervise other fee earners and meet LAA supervisor criteria.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to generate new business is desirable.
