An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Corporate & Commercial Solicitor to join a well-established, forward-thinking regional law firm with deep roots in Yorkshire and a strong reputation for supporting owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
This firm has been advising businesses for generations and is widely recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice tailored to the needs of growing and established companies. The role is based in Huddersfield, with the opportunity for hybrid working once settled into the position. While full-time applicants are preferred, part-time applications (minimum 30 hours per week over four or five days) will also be considered.
The Role
You will undertake a varied and engaging corporate and commercial caseload, advising a broad client base that includes start-ups, owner-managed businesses and established SMEs, both locally and nationally. The work will span transactions of varying size and complexity, providing excellent exposure and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on share sales and asset sales
- Supporting and leading on acquisitions and mergers
- Drafting and negotiating shareholder agreements and investment agreements
- Providing clear, pragmatic and commercial advice to business clients
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider commercial services teams
- Actively participating in business development and marketing activities
- Building strong, long-term client relationships and enhancing both the firm's profile and your own
About You
- Ideally 2-5 years' PQE Corporate & Commercial Solicitor
- Applications welcomed from Newly Qualified Solicitors who completed a corporate or corporate & commercial seat during their training contract
- Strong commercial awareness with an interest in a broad range of business-related matters
- Self-motivated, adaptable and comfortable working with a diverse client base
- A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational, written and IT skills
- Excellent client care skills with the ability to develop trusted client relationships
