A well-established and growing regional law firm is seeking a talented and ambitious Associate Solicitor to join its Property Disputes team in Leeds or Bradford. This is an excellent and senior level opportunity for an experienced Disputes Lawyer looking to take on complex commercial matters, contribute to the strategic development of a thriving department and play a key role in mentoring and supporting colleagues.
You will bring significant post-qualification experience in handling complex commercial and property-related disputes, together with a strong record as a Fee‑Earner capable of managing high‑value matters independently. You will work closely with senior leadership within the department, helping to shape strategy while delivering exceptional client service. This position would suit a commercially minded Solicitor who is proactive in identifying opportunities to grow the practice, strengthen client relationships and support the continuing development of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and uphold the firm's reputation, image and professional ethos
- Participate actively in networking, marketing initiatives and professional events to promote the firm's services
- Contribute to the development of new legal products, services and opportunities
- Actively support the ongoing evolution and strategic growth of the firm
- Supervise and advise team members within areas of delegated responsibility
- Support training initiatives for colleagues while continuing personal professional development
- Assist the Head of Department with performance management, mentoring and staff appraisals
- Communicate departmental and partnership objectives to colleagues where appropriate
- Undertake specified management responsibilities as the department grows
- Develop leadership capabilities and contribute to improving team performance
- Deliver high‑quality legal work in accordance with professional and client care standards
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external institutions and organisations
- Provide guidance, supervision and support to Junior Fee‑Earners and support staff
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal systems and procedures, including the use of technology
- Work closely with the Head of Department to develop and implement departmental strategy
- Act as a mentor, supervisor and advocate for the department and its team members
- Qualified Solicitor (admitted to the Solicitors Roll in England & Wales)
- Significant post-qualification experience handling complex commercial or property disputes
- Strong fee‑earning record and ability to manage high‑value matters independently
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain client connections and generate work
- Team leadership, mentoring and people‑management capabilities
- 25 days' annual leave plus your birthday off
