We’re looking for an experienced and customer‑focused Senior Team Leader (Gas and Mechanical) to join our team, leading the delivery of gas and mechanical services across our homes in Yorkshire. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements, while supporting and developing teams to provide a high‑quality customer experience.
What will you be doing?
- You’ll provide leadership and direction to Gas and Renewable Team Leaders, Technical Coaches, and wider operational teams, ensuring services are delivered effectively and aligned with organisational priorities.
- Working closely with the Gas and Mechanical Services Manager and other stakeholders, you’ll oversee operational delivery, manage performance, and ensure resources are planned effectively to meet demand.
- You’ll also act as deputy to the Gas and Mechanical Services Manager when required.
- Your role will involve a combination of leadership, operational oversight, and technical expertise, driving improvements in service delivery, customer experience, compliance, and efficiency.
- Lead and support teams to deliver planned and reactive gas and mechanical services.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring work is completed on time and to a high standard.
- Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement improvements.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure services are delivered safely and effectively.
- Take ownership of customer complaints, ensuring timely and fair resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Support workforce planning to align resources with service demand.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support high‑quality delivery.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support multi‑skilling and development across teams to build resilience and flexibility.

Qualifications and Experience
- Strong technical knowledge in gas and mechanical services.
- Experience leading teams in a similar environment, ideally within social housing.
- Knowledge of compliance, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing performance and driving improvements.
- Excellent organisational and workforce planning skills.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- A proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
- A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Confidence working with systems and maintaining accurate data.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Relevant gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience with renewable technologies and commercial gas qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
