We’re on the hunt for an organised, motivated, and proactive Rent and Service Charge Officer to join our amazing team on a 12 month secondment. You’ll be part of a forward‑thinking housing provider with big plans for the future, so if you’re ready to take on your next challenge and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring that rents and service charges are calculated in line with policy and correctly entered into the rent system.
- Preparing service charge schedules for various schemes annually and calculating revised charges for review and sign‑off by the Head of Service.
- Producing informative annual rent and service charge letters, completing annual income and expenditure reports, and responding to colleague queries.
- Maintaining accurate records and working continuously to improve processes with your coordinator to meet best practice.
Here’s what we need from you:
- Great communication skills and confidence with IT, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong Excel skills for managing and analysing data.
- Accuracy, numeracy and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Experience handling complex numerical data and creating spreadsheets.
- Organised, proactive and keen to learn.
Bonus points if you have:
- Knowledge of rent and service charge regulations.
- Experience with Open Accounts or Orchard.
- Background in housing finance.
