We're looking for an experienced and customer focused Gas Team Leader (Commercial and Contracts) to join our Gas and Mechanical Services team, leading the delivery of commercial gas repair, servicing, and installation contracts across our homes and properties in Yorkshire. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring contractors deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality services, while providing leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to achieve excellent outcomes for our customers.

As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in managing contractor performance, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring our customers receive a high-quality service every time.

What will you be doing?

  • You will provide leadership, support, and technical expertise to contractors delivering commercial gas and mechanical services, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with organisational priorities.
  • Working closely with the Senior Team Leader, Service Manager and a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will oversee operational delivery, monitor performance, and support effective resource planning.
  • Your role will involve a combination of contractor management, technical oversight, and operational leadership, helping to drive improvements in service delivery, customer satisfaction, compliance, and value for money.
  • You will also lead and manage contractors delivering commercial gas and mechanical services.
  • Monitor performance, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction, ensuring KPI targets are achieved.
  • Provide technical guidance on gas safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee audits, compliance checks, contractor reviews, and performance reporting.
  • Manage customer complaints and support the prompt resolution of operational issues.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support resource planning, budget management, and service improvements.
  • Ensure accurate records, documentation, and systems are maintained.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours management escalation rota.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where you will combine technical expertise, leadership skills, and commercial awareness to deliver a high-performing service for our customers.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who is technically confident, customer focused, and passionate about delivering excellent services. You will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience within commercial gas and mechanical services.
  • Current domestic and commercial ACS gas qualifications, including COCN1/CODNCO1, TPCP1/TPCP1A, CIGA1, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1.
  • Experience managing contractors, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience carrying out audits, quality checks, and driving service improvements.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and make sound decisions.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using operational management systems.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Experience with renewable technologies, including air source heat pumps, would be advantageous but is not essential.
