Are you a detail‑driven compliance professional with a passion for keeping homes safe? At Yorkshire Housing, we’re looking for two Compliance Technical Officers to play a vital role in ensuring our properties meet the highest safety and regulatory standards. We own and manage nearly 20,000 homes across Yorkshire and our mission is to make it possible for current and future customers to have a place they’re proud to call home. We’re all about the customer, and our service doesn’t stop once the keys are in the door.
What will you be doing? This is a key role supporting the delivery of safe, compliant homes across Yorkshire Housing. You’ll take a technical lead in delivering landlord compliance across areas such as gas, electrical safety, asbestos, lifts, legionella, damp & mould and HHSRS—ensuring programmes are effectively planned, delivered, and quality assured. You’ll also monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance data is accurate and robust, and support assurance and reporting across the organisation. This is a hands‑on, detail‑focused role where your technical knowledge and ability to interpret compliance data will help us maintain high standards and keep our customers safe. The role follows our agile working approach, so you’ll spend some of your time working from home, but also be out at sites as needed—carrying out inspections, audits, and supporting operational delivery. You’ll need the flexibility to attend our Leeds workspace when required for team meetings or key activities.
Who are we looking for?
- A minimum Level 4 qualification in Assets, Building Safety, or a related area, or be willing to work towards.
- Strong operational knowledge of landlord compliance areas (e.g. gas, electrical, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts, damp & mould, HHSRS).
- Experience carrying out inspections, audits, or quality checks within a compliance or property setting.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to managing workloads and priorities.
- Confidence working with complex compliance data, with the ability to interpret, maintain, and ensure accuracy of records.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Confidence speaking with customers, including handling complaints or more complex technical conversations in a clear and empathetic way.
- Strong IT and systems skills, including experience working with compliance databases.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across teams and manage relationships with contractors.
What’s in it for you…
- Salary: £46,725 per annum (35 hours/week) + £2,000 per annum car allowance.
- 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 annually) + Bank Holidays.
- Permanent contract.
The fine print: Closing date: Sunday 28th June 2026 (we may close early if we get lots of great candidates!)
