Yorkshire Health Partners (YHP) is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Lead to support delivery of high-impact programmes that improve services and outcomes for local communities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate a range of projects while also contributing to the development of innovative income-generating services, including private and non-NHS-funded provision. You will play a key role in strengthening YHP’s long-term sustainability and supporting reinvestment into community health services.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose

East Riding of Yorkshire continues to evolve its approach to delivering integrated health and care services. YHP has established dedicated programme capacity to support this transformation and deliver high-impact improvements for residents. The Project Lead will support delivery across multiple programmes and initiatives, working closely with system partners and internal stakeholders. The post holder will bring strong project and programme management expertise, with the ability to work autonomously to plan and deliver complex projects, using population health insights to drive meaningful change.

In addition, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the development of a YHP income diversification programme, contributing to the design and delivery of diversified income streams which are aligned to YHP’s strategic intent. This includes supporting the development of NHS, private and non-NHS-funded services to enhance long-term financial sustainability and enable reinvestment into community health services.

Job Summary

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead on multiple projects, ensuring appropriate resources are mobilised effectively despite competing priorities
  • Work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused services
  • Track performance, risks and benefits, providing clear reporting to stakeholders and governance forums
  • Ensure robust systems are in place for managing programmes of change
  • Support the development and delivery of the YHP income diversification workstream, working alongside Business & Commercial Development leads
  • Contribute to identifying, appraising, and developing new income-generating service opportunities, including: Occupational health, Weight management, Private medicals, Primary care support services, Left Shift Hospital to Community
  • Assist in the planning, mobilisation, and evaluation of pilot services, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, time, and financial frameworks
  • Apply structured programme management approaches across feasibility, pilot, and scale phases
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement including employers, partners, and potential commissioners
  • Monitor and report on financial viability, performance, and outcomes of new service lines

Operational Management

  • Ensure appropriate team capacity and capability is in place to deliver programmes
  • Matrix manage individuals across workstreams, supporting development and performance
  • Enable effective cross-functional working

Financial Management and Planning

  • Work with programme leads and stakeholders to manage delegated budgets
  • Support the development of business cases, pricing models, and cost recovery approaches for new service lines
  • Contribute to ensuring robust financial tracking, reporting, and governance, including ROI and sustainability measures
  • Support alignment of income generation with reinvestment into community health priorities

Building Capacity through Effective Leadership

  • Matrix manage teams and ensure delivery against agreed milestones
  • Build project management capability across teams through coaching and support
  • Promote a collaborative, outcome-focused culture

Management of Communications

  • Provide clear, structured updates on delivery progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Facilitate effective project meetings and stakeholder engagement

  • Experience supporting new service development or pilot programmes

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field e.g. healthcare, business, management, public sector
  • Evidence of continued professional development in project or programme management
  • Qualification or training in service improvement methodologies - e.g. Lean, PDSA
