Teaching Assistant (2026/27 TA) York, England

We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistantsto work inlocal Primary School's in the York area.

We are open to both qualified and unqualified Teaching Assistants if you have the right experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary age range.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and help children achieve their full potential.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence, curiosity, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources, educational activities, and displays.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the varying needs of young learners.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
