We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive team at a primary school located in York. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of their pupils. It is to work Monday - Friday full time, from 1st June - 17th July. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, fostering a positive classroom environment, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil's progress and attainment.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies to inform planning and support pupil progress.
  • Track pupil data and contribute to school-wide monitoring and reporting.
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants, support staff, and other colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/carers about pupil progress and well-being.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events.
  • Organise and maintain a stimulating classroom environment.
  • Ensure resources are used effectively and safely.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
  • Contribute to school improvement initiatives and curriculum development.
  • Stay informed about educational research, policy, and best practice.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in KS2 (ECTs welcome to apply).
  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil well-being.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Must pass all background safe recruiting checks and possess thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
