Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wetherby. This is a full-time position initially covering the first two weeks of the autumn term, with a strong possibility of extension and the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Support children across a variety of year groups within the school.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Promote pupils\' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Adapt support strategies to meet the varying needs of individual children.
Person Specification
- Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
- Be confident working with pupils across different age groups.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to supporting learners.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be committed to promoting inclusion and educational progress for all pupils.
