We are seeking an ambitious and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the Selby area. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality Food Technology lessons that inspire, engage, and motivate students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Maintain excellent classroom management, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Plan and deliver creative, practical, and theory‑based lessons that develop students' skills, confidence, and understanding of food preparation, nutrition, and healthy living.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families, promoting clear communication and a positive, collaborative school culture.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and continuous improvement within the Food Technology department, helping to maintain high standards across the subject area.

Requirements

  • QTS
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level, with strong subject knowledge across practical and theory components.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding, curriculum requirements, and best practice in delivering high‑quality Food Technology education.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom‑management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a positive learning environment where all learners can succeed.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within the department, make informed decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement.
